I know this may be a dumb question but here it goes...

I have two 1 x 12 cabs rated at 8 ohms each. They both have extension jacks so you can take two and connect them in parallel for a total of 4 ohms. Now the question is:

Is it there any difference between taking the above config and connecting to one of the single 4 ohm outs on the Mark vs. Plugging each 8 ohm cab separately into each of the two 4 ohm speaker output jacks?

Yeah, the way the amp is desgined is that the two 4 ohm jacks are really expecting 8 ohms total. You should plug an 8 ohm cab into each of the 4 ohm jacks.

That's what I figured but being new to the Mark IV, I felt I should ask before making assumptions. The manual was not a big help... Thanks everyone...

The two 4 Ohm jacks are wired in parallel so it doesn't matter. Either way is electrically the same.
