I recently got a Mark IV. I didn't think I'd keep it long, but it turns out I love it. I'm thinking about picking up a Mesa cab to pair with it. Which is the best choice. I'm open to other cabs and speaker combinations.

Right now I'm playing it through a Diezel 412R with v30s or my Bogner Uberkab with an x-pattern of v30s/g12T75s.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

At the moment I'm playing mine with a Mesa 2x12 vertical cab. It sounds great.

I either play my MKIV through a 3/4 stack of stock Mesa recto cabs (V30s, yea?) or into a Soldano 2x12 which is actually bigger than a recto cab, probably similar in size to a Bogner cab. It has two Eminence Legends speakers, 75w each, it sounds great. Crushing low end, and sweet sweet top end and clarity. It's still good to rock out on the 4x12 when you want some face melting volume though.

For overall sound quality though, I prefer my Soldano with the Eminence Legends.... I wanna see about getting a Soldano 4x12 soon.

Honestly, with the Bogner and Diezel cabs, I wouldn't bother with anything else...they're on par, if not better than a Mesa cab. I wouldn't mess with what you have at all

Yeah, I know. It sounds great through the Diezel cab. But 3 heads needs 3 cabs. (I'm going to sell the Uberschall) :)

Try a Stiletto/Roadster 2x12. The short head will look good matched up with it, and your back will love you.

thiele or genz benz gflex. but as far as 412 goes what you have is indeed pretty sweet. the stiletto cab keeps the mark extra tight which is the allure of the mark

I think my friend who I bought it from may have stilletto cab. I liked it through that again. I need to find a recto cab to play it through to compare.

I really only want a 412 though.

is the stilletto cab the same thing as a traditional cab?

On the price sheet I think I only recall seeing stilletto, recto and roadking cabs.

Stiletto 4x12 = Traditional 4x12.

I used to play my Mark IV through a Recto Standard 4x12, but recently "side-graded" to a Stiletto 4x12, and prefer the tightness overall (it's a bit lighter than the oversized cab, too).

I also like the tone through a horizontal Recto 2x12, though actually it's harder to move longer distances due to a lack of side-handles or casters. That said, it's a great way to obtain a full tone in a slightly smaller package/price.

I play it through a Marshall 1960AV, nice cab, V30's. I prefer the Mark IV with V30's but don't like the Marshall construction. Thin plywood and partcile backboard. My vote goes to the Stiletto 412. The oversized is muddy and doesn't do justice to the Marks tigghtness(tested them side by side once).

I quite liked the Mark IV with a Traditional 4x12 with an x-pattern of V30s and Mesa C90s. Brought out the best in the Mark IMO.

Going back to all V 30s with the Stiletto though :D

I'm using a EV loaded Mesa Thiele and an open back C90 1x12. Great sound and easy on the back.

+1 on the Thiele. I'm not a MKIV guy but you've already got two big guns, and the short head would sit on the Thiele like the dot on an i. Lastly, the EV loaded Thiele is a sound to be reckoned with. You might get hooked if you haven't used one already.

This is totally unrelated, but are you the guy from Incubus?
