Hey

I recently got a Mark IV. Its awesome

I did a quick vid of it here earlier

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHNyqW5R6Js

Its a cover of 'The Baying of the Hounds' by Opeth.

I only learnt it yesterday so there are a few flubs but it has lots of different parts that show each of the sounds of the IV

It was recorded at pretty low volume but the sound was good in the room

I also have a DC5 but the Mark IV kills it dead for the most part on the lead channel. Can you describe an amp as more inherently 'musical'??!!

cheers

Cool **** dude, nice playing. That album is killer, I just recently learned Harlequin Forest, so much fun to play. The audio is a bit iffy but whatever, still neat

Im still changing lead channel settings daily on the amp but I think for that clip it was something like

Tweed power
Pentode
Class A
Harmonics

Lead Gain - 8
Lead treble - 7
Lead Bass - 1
Lead Mid - 5
Lead drive 7
Lead Presence - 5

EQ pretty much a V

It has got mesa 6L6 STR430 tubes- any idea what the 430 means? i may have read something about them being russian made as opposed to chinese......

R1 and R2 were pretty close to the settings in the manual i think.

I re-watched the clip and the amp could have probably been a bit louder TBH ..

There are so many possibilities with the amp that i haven't really settled on one sound yet but i am trying to get it without using any outboard eq's etc

Great playing. Awesome tune.

Wasn't that whole album written in Open Dminor tuning or something?
