hello all, hopefully you techs can help me out with this. I'm looking at a mark iv (series a) that i'm told on the lead channel and fx loop the gain will cut out every so often (supposedly weeks in between) but there is still clean sounds produced when it happens. a flick of the standby switch he says fixes it. i called mesa and asked if what he said aligns with what he thought was wrong (bad light dependent resistors) and they said it could be that.
so my question is, do you have any other ideas what the problem may be? or does the LDR's sound accurate? and are they difficult to replace? thanks so much in advance for any and all help!

ldr's would be a great guess based on what you are describing. They're not hard to replace with a good iron and a steady hand... space is tight in mark4.
