only problem is my killer mesa half-back 4x12 is 8ohm mono so I'm thinking about getting another 4x12 (suggestions for a 4x12 that handles mono + stereo?)
Why not modify the wiring so that it could be switchable? You can buy the backplate for mesa cab and retrofit it in the cab. I'm not sure how the wiring would be, but it should be easy.
