Hi there,

Does anyone know if the trannies in the MKIV can be converted from 110V to 220V? I live in Europe and am seriously looking for a MKIV-head, but they're very hard to find over here, so I'm gathering all kinds of info to see whether it could be wise to import a 110V-sersion and have it modified to 220V..(or replace the tranny).

Anyone with any experience or good suggestions?

Thanks

Marco

Can'y you just ge a small step-down transformer that converts the 220V to 110v? My uncle has a ton of those around his house in Sri Lanka...

I've had this done. I bought a US Mark IV and had a UK 230V power transformer fitted.

I was using a step-up transformer before but was convinced by my tech to change it as I wasn't completely happy with the sound.

After the conversion, the amp has more sustain and just sings better. It did cost a lot of money though!!
