Mark III VS Caliber 50+

Hi Guys, My name is Patrick and i just want to Know what is the best distortion or gain sound for an amp between Mark III (purple strip) VS caliber 50 + with the 2 6L6. Because have got the chance to get one of these for the same price, but I'm looking for an amp with a crunch.
I have a mark IV and a mark IIB so i Know what mesa can do !Thanks for the reply

I have both, and for just pure gain for Chunk Rhythm I prefer the .50Cal+. But the MKIII is a lot more versatile and of course louder.

I have 2 purple stripes,a green stripe and a .50 cal and it,s no competion!!! the mark 3.

I have a purple stripe and have had a DC-5 ( simular to the .50 cal IMO) Mark III all the way. For metal, the DC-5 was awesome and highly underrated but it just doesnt quite get that Mark feel and playablilty.
