Have been running 442 and 454 in my head, but have been running class A quite loud, 8 or 9 on the master. I like the push of power tube saturation. I pulled them last night, and think the EL34 (442) are cooked pretty well. I re-installed the 415's to tide me over, but want to get 4 new 6L6's. Should I just try to find 2 more 454, or is there something else I should look at for all 4?
Just to note, I like the tone of big bottle tubes, so with that, any suggestions? No 5881's please..
thanks.

Boogiebabies, don't you run GT6L6? Are they the RCA style, side getter? How are they? I want a big sounding tube, you know what I mean... This way, in class A, I can get that dimed Fender tone.....But also want the high gain capabilities...

What's wrong with 5881? I'm running two tungsol 5881 and 2 wing C(sed)6l6 with my mark III, and they sound BIG.
