Hey all, hate to be a newb and ask about a popular subject, but I don't think I found an answer to these few questions.
I recently purchased a Mark III Blue stripe because my Mark V seems so lonely. I love the amp and have attempted the R2 mod, carefully following this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18520
I removed my slave because I hate directing out anyway, and added a 250K pot in the hole. The first pass, it made no difference. R2 worked the same and the pot had no effect. I pulled the guts out again, redid all of my solderwork, double checking it with the link above, including looking for bad joints, making sure I hit the right pads, and checking the wiring to the pot. Plugged it back in, and still nothing. R2 behaves the same as before.
Two questions:
1. Anyone have any idea what the trouble could be?
2. The amp does seems to work fine, but it doesn't work as it should given the surgery. To anyone's knowledge here, am I risking damage by continuing to use it?
Thanks for any help.
