Mark III questions

Who has the dirt on the Mark III lineage? Green Stripe, Blue Stripe, Eq, R2 mod, Combos, Heads, Coliseum, etc, etc...

I would love to get one, but I don't know a thing about their history or versions. I have heard some unbelievable sounds come out of them - Who know's whats up with the venerable Mark III's?

I have a Mark III green stripe that I love to death (right now).

The green stripe was the last revision and has the outer tubes wired in pentode rather than triode (more headroom).

Is it possible to mod other's III versions to be wired in pentode??
