Hey, I was tinkering around with my III and IV and I was wondering if it would be okay to use more than "two" 8 ohm cabs? I think I would be okay, but I am not 100% sure. According to my math the load should be 2.66 using three 8 ohm cabs. I thought I read somewhere that it would be okay to do, but would wear out the power tubes faster? Any advice?

I used to run a 50/50, and then a 395, on less than 4 ohms. I was using two 4 ohm cabinest, so there was a 2 ohm load. I never had any problems, but I wasn't putting it on 11, either.

The tone was a bit different, though. It seemed "springier" on the lower impedance. If I ran a 4 ohm cabinet, but used the 8 ohm jacks, I got a similar sound. It was pretty kuwl, actually.
