Hi. I've been looking to purchase Mark a III, and I noticed that the later (more recent) models had the"Mark III label" on the back and earlier models did not have that label.

I was wondering if there were known differences between these models. I don't think it is a stripe issue, as all the "labelled" Mark III's I have seen are green stripe, and I have seen green stripes w/o the label.

Was this a "reissue" of the amp, similar to the Mark I? If so, what was different about the amp vs. the non "labelled" green stripe version?

Thanks, in advance.

There are some Mark III's which was 'Mark III' on the FRONT panel too which is worth considering. However there is no 'reissue' mark III, never was. They just went through the different stripes.

I have a Purple stripe Mark III which has 'Mark III' on the back and it's from November '86, serial 178xx fully loaded.

Interesting. I guess they just updated the back plate at some point. Thanks for the reply.

Here's a picture of my amp, you can see the writing on the right of the pic:

I would like to know if amps have engraved serials or a plate, too.

Like mine.

Mine is engraved, serial 17xxx. It's visible [just] in the photo underneath 'speakers' and above 'mesa boogie Mark III' on the back of the amp.
