My Mark III head has a "full power/ half power" switch on the front, along with EQ in/ out, power and standby. I read somewhere that this switch is actually the simulclass switch for this amp? Is this true?

it's true if it's simulclass. Is there a sticker on the back that says simulclass? or did you pull the chassis and see the letter "D" in the configuration code in magic marker? half power will be class A. is it a series 300?

Yep, more then likely it's Simul-class. Can you take a quick picture or two and post it? That would be worth a thousand words. 8)

If not,as long as it's not 60/100..you should be good to go.

if it has 6L6 and EL34 power tubes installed, it would be a good indicator its a simulclass.
