I've got a couple of Mark III Simul-Class clips posted at: http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=3820&alid=-1
(Two-Rock vs. Boogie-#21-2nd solo, and Angel Solo-#38). I love the old Mark series amps.

hey i just bought a mark III off of ebay today! how much did you get yours for? i got a rackmoutable head!a

btw AMAZING TONE!!!!!

Nick_cor, Congratulations on scoring the amp and thanks for the kind words. I bought my Boogie new in 1985 or 86'. I think that I payed a little over $1,500 for it. I love that amp. It has an EVM 12L in it with Siml Class etc. If you really want that amp to be magic, put 80's production tall bottle NOS Phillips/Sylvania 6L6 GC STR 415's in it-all the way across, (If you can find them). I gurantee that you will be blown away by how it sounds! (Yes I will buy the tubes from you If you don't love them). The amp was designed around that tube. NOS RCA, GE, or 80's production chinese 12AX7"s also make great preamp tubes for the Mark III.
I hope that you enjoy the amp as much as I do mine. I feel that the Mark series are the best Boogies. They are very special.

Hei Rick, thanks for the link!

That Angel Solo is awesome! The right feel, the right sound... just beautiful.
So, it sounds like you can tweak the amp to your taste and get a nice cutting tone like that one, avoiding that overly saturated-fat-smooth-compressed-middy tone often associated with other Mesa amps?
Did you use the crunch or lead channel to get that sound? Pickups were singles or humbuckers?

Again, best compliments for that clip, I felt in love with it.

Luca79,
Thanks for the compliment! I was in the lead mode and used humbuckers. I wish that the recording quality was a little better. I only had a Tascam multi-track cassette back then, (around '85 or '86). The amp still sounds great.
