The reason I ask is because this guy on CL says he bought a MKIIC+ new in 1983 and paid over $3,000.00 for it. :shock:

That looks to be an early C HR, which could have been upgraded at some later point. You could contact Mesa to find out if they have any records of it being upgraded. (Maybe best to just email them the serial # and ask if they have any records on it, as many of their service staff are still working from home). As far as what the seller paid for it, that’s immaterial to what it’s worth today, IMO. That one will be a “fast” pentode power section, and you could always throw a Mesa 5-band or parametric EQ in the loop, if you want to tone shape. Price-wise, it’s not too off the mark (haha!), whether C or C+.
