+1 to the above. if you have ever heard danyeo's C+ clips, you will understand that a C+, with or without simul, is pure sonic bliss. however, as stated, the simul's tend to smooth out a lot more.

on the black album and after, it was all boogie. you can't hear (or see in pics) an ounz of marshall in there. i'm almost positive they didn't slave into marshalls during justice.

i stand corrected. there were marshalls in there!

I am thinking about getting a mark IV and mark IIC+ and layering the tone in two cabs with one musicman guitar, lets see how that turns out.

i'll tell you first hand thats it's HUGE!!!
I love both amps.
can't get any better than that :D

I HAVE A 60/100W MARK IIC+,EQ,EV, IMBUYA COMBO. I AM LUCKY THAT MY FRIEND ,JOEY B WHO IS A FORUM MEMBER ,AND WE LIVE IN THE SAME CITY. JOEY B HAS A SIMULCLASS C+,EQ,REV,EV,IMBUYA COMBO. WE HAVE PLAYED THESE AMPS SIDE BY SIDE THROUGH THE SAME SPEAKERS AND HAVE DONE A COMPARISON. I BELIEVE THE SIMULCLASS C+ DOES HAVE A SMOOTHER TONE AND TIGHTER THAN THE 60/100W. THE 60/100W SEEMS TO HAVE MORE HEADROOM AND POSSIBLY A BIT MORE BOTTOM END. IN SHORT BOTH AMPS WILL TAKE YOUR HEAD OFF AND LEAVE YOU SMILING. THEY BOTH SOUND INCREDIBLE AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH EITHER MODEL.IT IS TRUE TO GET ONE THAT HAS THE EQ. AFTER THE COMPARISON WE BOTH JUST SMILED UNTIL THE RINGING IN OUR EAR SUBSIDED.
Hey Jay, i know this is a very old thread but i was trying to find Joey b and you mentioned him, can't seem to find him any where, we're old friends but lost touch and have been trying to find him and catch up, last time i saw him was in the Decatur area, i live in Rogersville,do you have any idea where he may be these days? Thanks, Rob

I’ve owned a bunch of Mesa Mark Series amps, but never a IIC or IIC+. I prefer the Standard 6L6 powered amps over the Simul-Class amps.

I never cared for the Class A mode and I always considered the Mesa Mark Series sound to be from 6L6 power tubes.

Just my thoughts.

Hey, I have a chance to buy a mark IIC+ once again, but it doesnt' have simuclass, how important is the simuclass, I heard that a mark IIC+ without EQ isn't worth getting and im into that petrucci/metallica, tight high gain focused markish tone, do you think i will still be pleased?
Simul class has 2 settings like the 60/100 amps.
It runs the amp on class A with 15 watts using just 2 tubes. You can use either EL34 or 6L6 tubes in that slot. The other tube slots use 6L6 tubes. Running in class A with 15 watts in can be used at home and small club, or miked. Running in full power it has 75-80 rms watts. (Class A/B)
The sound of a 100 watt as compared to a simul is similar, but reviews state it is smoother.
I like running full A/B and do not notice the smooth sound, but that may be when turning the amp way up.
With wattage now going to lower watt amps, is it necessary to have the full 4 6L6 amps, IMO no. But back in the day, without proper PA yes having a high wattage amp and being able to run the 15 watt section was a plus.

Lmao, lucky you!!! haha he lived an hour away so i was there in 40 minutes! that's hilarious  anyways ! I am thinking about getting a mark IV and mark IIC+ and layering the tone in two cabs with one musicman guitar, lets see how that turns out :D
Question? Do you know how loud the Mark series are? Even the 60 watt version will take your head off, and hearing. 2 mesa's you would be competing with 2 stacks of Marshalls. And they sound best when turned above 2 on the dial.
