Here are some gutshots of my C+. On it's way to Mesa for general service. Putting new EVM-12L classics in both the combo and the thiele. Can't wait to get it back!!!

It looks pretty clean to me...lol...What are you having done specifically? Also when you send to Mesa, do they give you a fairly good timeframe when you can expect it back? Just wondering. I'm on the east coast and have a pretty good Mesa authorized tech not too far away, but I always wondered about sending it to Petaluma.

Yep, it has the RP11a board.

Caps, Tube sockets, and whatever else it needs.

The newer boogie tubes do not go in easy, and he said that the older brown ones sometimes need replacing.

The newer tubes don't go in because there not suppose to. :D
The 415 and 387's go in fine.

Looks like it had a full circuit board swap in 1985.

I just picked up a 60/100 serial 1228X HRG and it also had the preamp board swapped out for the RP11a but the odd
thing is that is has the "pull deep" instead of the "Gain Boost" faceplate.
Did they ever change the faceplates along with the RP11 swap?

It has the 100 PT unless this was a transitional Mark IIC -C+. One of the first ones.
It has 2/84 with MB's initials on the chassis and HRG 2 on the side
(Sorry Mike didn't mean to hijack your thread)

love the nice clean halfback plus the use of the floor protectors to prop the amp up!

why do i never get tired of looking at pics like these? thanks for those...

Hey Scott, thanks, I just received it a few weeks ago. It is in mint showroom condition, it even came with a cover and casters. It had 2 MC-90's on top and VS-12's on the bottom.
I replaced them with 4 EVM12L's. Sounded ok before but now it really sounds like it should. The MC-90's sound fizzy to me, The VS12's reminded me of a nicely broken in V30
I think the best speaker for the Mark IIC+ is the EVM12L. No doubt about it.
Having the amp up side down allow for easy tube changes and no need for a fan. :D I actually have some hardwood headshell's ordered. Just waiting to install them.

What's the give away?
I can't see if it's an RP11a or RP10 etc or any dates.
Then again I don't have your eye and/ or knowledge of the circuit boards.

It has metal film plate resistors, green creamic disc caps and a plastic pull bright cap.
It also has a date code on the main board cap of 8508 as the power supply is 8239.
Lastly, the solder job is way too clean and consistent to be an upgrade.

The only ones for sure that got new faces were IIA and IIB upgrades. The rest of the faceplate
saga is a nightmare.
