eq in or out, it does it on both channels, loud or quiet....I assume either a cap for V1 or feeding power tubes...all other notes seem fine but a bit thin, I thought it needed filter caps so I replaced them, variaced (great word ) it up and its still there...

tried a couple dif tubes in V1, not the guitar..I`m thinkin coupling caps, just seeing if anyone else has had this phenomenon...

and btw, I tried a couple speakers also, and I find it odd that it gets raspy and kinda weak only on the "e"..a little sharp or flat it cleans up...

in case anybody is interested, I found the problem..it was somebody`s "mod...also somebody down the line jumped the 2 b voltage feeds together and used a 1k 5w ceramic resistor for both tubes, this may be ok but the resistor had wandered down to 820, but the real problem was the oscilation from an attempt to add a preamp out, but ran the lead close to this resistor on its way to the un-used reverb hole (I never liked any of Mesa`s `verbs, I prefer just to use a digital) but I removed this jack, fixed the resistor issue (2 470`s) and she`s singin again....btw, I played with tubes, and can`t get over how much fatter this amp (and my MKIII) get when I use a 12AT7 in the inverter slot..Just my opinion, but it makes it a bit richer...Thanks all who read!

+1 on the 12AT7 in the PI. I use a Mullard CV4024.
