anyone already tried this amp ? I'm thinking of changing my DC10 for a LSC (I love my dirt channel, but I find that the clean one is cold). I'm not looking for a metal tone, but a nervous rock tone. And the fact is a 100w is too powerful, but here it is possible to switch the powersection down to 10W.

So my question is : what do you think of that amp ?

Mine switches down to 10w but I never use it. I run at 50w for gigging, rehearsal and at home practising and it sounds great at all volume levels. I think the general opinion is if you use a pedal on front, such as a BB preamp you can cover pretty well all bases. I kick in my Boss SD-1 as a booster when I want some serious overdrive.

I find that footswiching between 10w and 50w is accompanied by a loud pop so I avoid that anyway. This is quite a common problem, not just with the Lonestar.

I already own a bb preamp, it is always activated with my DC10 (giving me some hair on the clean chan when I play a bit louder, and a little more gain on channel 2 (I set the gain on the amp at 3 or 4)). It would be the same on the LS, since I have only true bypassed effects, so my BB plays the role of the buffer too.
