I am using Voodoo Lab GCX and the Ground Control to change channels via the rear panel jacks on my Stiletto head using a mono tip/sleeve cable. Going into channel 1 or 2 with the gain up causes pretty loud pop. It does not do this with the stock front panel mesa foot switch using a TRS cable.

I have had one ocassion to rearrange my set up and moved to a different loop and the problem followed to the next loop.

I've tried instrument and speaker cable between the amp and GCX. It pops on either one. The pop seems to be gain related. The higher the gain setting on the Mesa the louder the pop. IN fact channel one doesn;t pop unless the gain is over 12:00. Switching cable is short and there's nothing else on the loop in the GCX.

Any ideas on how to get rid of the pop? Is it a sign that there's DC on the cable?

Thanks, Rick

this seems to be common with a lot of Mesa amps from what I've read. I have the same thing happen with my Subway rocket. I've noticed that if I stop playing when I switch, the pop isn't as loud.
