Has anyone used a loop selector to switch effects in & out of the Mark III's FX loop? I have some effects in the FX loop which aren't true bypass and I'd like to use a selector to completely remove them when not in use.

Mesa used to (back in the 80's) make a product called the Midi-Matrix. I used this for several years to do just what you talking about, as well as switching channels on my Mark III when I had it racked.

I think Digital Music Corp. makes something comparable if not more powerful called the GCX Audio Switcher:

Combine that with a midi pedal and you should have complete control over your effects and switching needs.

Thanks for the replies. When the Lehle arrives, I'll try it and let you guys know what happens.

Great forum!! I've been reading for awhile now and would like to say thanks for sharing tons of valuable knowledge. Today I finally can contribute and hopefully give something back.

I use products from Axess Electronics in my rack setup.

For future reference you might want to check out the CRFX4 router. It works with midi and is great! I have three of those, three BS2 buffers, and one CFX4, all controlling my dual boogie rack setup. I'm the original owner of a MKIII (was purple stripe, had the C+ mod and R2 mod done, luv it!!) and a Formula Pre (with Andrew mod) running thru a 295.

Mario Marino has the best customer service!! (sorry for the rant, but he really does go that extra mile)

enjoy!!

:D
