Looking for pics:

I'm looking to remove the chasis from my 5:50 2x12 combo, and covert it to a custom 19" 3U rack format. Does anybody have pics of the open chasis? I'm trying to get an idea of how much room I have to work with. I'm wondering about the PCB layout, and if I would be able to make this all fit. Hopefully somebody has a pic of the inside guts, before I take mine apart and find out that it's not possible.

awesome! Thanks a lot. Looks to be one big long circuit board. May be tough to make it fit into a 19" rack chasis. Is this a picture of your amp?

Is the 5:25 shorter in width than the 5:50 2x12? I think it is. Do you know the approximate length of that circuit board? Thanks for your time. Oh and are you a Tracy McGrady fan?

That wasn't a picture of my own 5:25 (although it looks the same), but just a picture I found on the web. In my 5:25, the long circuit board is 81cm. I don't know what the difference will be between the 5:50 and 5:25, though.

I hadn't even heard of Tracy McGrady before. Basketball isn't particularly popular here in Norway. But after a quick search, I now understand why I triggered that association :lol:

Well crap, there goes that idea. That makes it 31" long. Way to long for a 19" rack space. I guess I could figure out a way to mount it vertically though. All hope is not lost. Thanks for your help. BTW, I'll be following your other thread about the FX loop.

Woah, wait a minute.... I meant 41cm.

The thing is, my measuring stick starts at 40cm because it is broken. I forgot to subtract 40 on the result... Of course it is not 81cm, that's nearly a whole meter (ie. almost a yard). :lol:

That makes me feel better. I went out side and got a measuring tape (to get a visual), and was like "no freaking way, my entire 2x12 combo ain't that freaking wide." LOL This is good news. It means that my idea should work. Assuming that they PCB is the same length in the 5:50. At least now, I'm willing to take a chance and open it up. I'll let you guys know what I find out. Got a gig tomorrow night, so it'll probably be Saturday before I mess with it.
