I am looking at buying a Pre-Amp but have a few things that I am worried about.
Here is my current rig:
Affordable Cases Rack:
Furman
Shure SLX Wireless
Tuner
GCX
Rocktron Hush Super-C
Rocktron Xpression (eventually maybe a TC instead..)
BBE Sonic Maximizer
[Empty]
Mesa Single Rec Solo Head
Floor:
Voodoo Labs Ground Control and Dunlop Wah&Volume
Speakers:
Mesa Standard 4x12 and Roland JC120
I want to know 3 things:
1) I have 1 space left in my rack, and obviously I want a pre-amp there. The problem is the depth of the rack is 15 3/4. The Triaxis is 14.3 inches so I dont think my Monster Cables will fit?
2) How does the Triaxis sound with the Single Rec? I have to use an actual head, not a rack head.
3) The triaxis wasn't really designed for a rectifier series head was it? More for the Strategies and other rack amps, correct? Will it benefit me to buy this thing?
I spend almost $500 on the rack and can't really scrap it and buy another one for a 50:50 or something like that, so I am building my rig around the limits I made for myself...
The sound I am going for is something between Metallica's live sound from the black album, and Lamb of God Mark II's,... but want to be able to tone things down.
We don't play arenas so that's why I bought the Single in the first place..
