Very good job for you to spot and get that Mullard longplate, especially at that price... It is a fantastic tube, and FWIW I see most of them and the Amperex longplate 12ax7's test a bit low compared to other 12ax7 types on eBay. Even though the numbers don't seem all that high, after letting those tubes sit in circuit for about ten minutes they "open up" and provide an amazing sound. Sounds like you are on your way to collecting some really nice preamp tubes...and losing the "store bought" tone. Well done!
It's wonderful that Mesa works so hard to ensure a reliable tube supply for their customers. It's also a good thing to explore outside the Mesa womb and gather and share new experiences.
