Maybe try a rackmount MkIV. No channel switch popping and it might get away from the "goofy" look  . They are great amps with not near enough exposure in most Boogie dealerships.
You guys do sell those amps, don't you? I hope I can find a place to demo one.

how far are you from mesa hollywood?? they have everything imaginable there..

I am as far as it is possible to be and not fall into the Atlantic Ocean. :(

I cant see any good reason for a dealer to talk you out of a Mesa, except most are looking to make the most money they can.

Out of the four amps i have owned the Mesa is the best as far as...um

1. just knowing i have a Mesa
2. build quality. custom ordered and it is perfect, fit, finish, no doubt it was master built.
3. SOUND. I have an LSS and it is great at what it was meant for-Blues...at least i guess it was meant for that because it can do blues, old Zepelin and Jazz type stuff w\out any pedals at all. But i like the Celestion Blue or Gold, seems this amp was made for them.
4. Reliability. I did have to change a blown Rect. tube but that happened early on and was ONLY because it was a crappy tube.

OT, but since it came up in other posts:
If i had the choice between a good digital amp and a cheap tube amp i would easily pick the digital (modelers). I had a cheap tube amp and it sucked- sound, build, HEAT...it was crap.

Analog .vs Digital

The digital stuff is fine, but once you get into the high end then the digital loses it's appeal. Someone compared analog to digital video but compare digital to FILM and there is no way digital is in the same league especially for artsy type movies.

Back to audio. I sold my GT8 after i got a Mesa and don't miss it at all. The problems were: Notes dropping off too fast, weird noises with certain settings etc.

Get a Mesa without any second thoughts, if that is what you really want you can't go wrong.
