Live volume question...2:90/Studio pre

I'm new to rack gear and would like some help. Wondering what's the right way... Run the 2:90's volume all the way and the Studio Pre to taste? Or run the 2:90 at like 12 o clock and the preamp volume higher?

I always turned them up equal ammounts.

With my TriAxis/2:Ninety getup, I like to run the preamp pretty hot and leave the power amp at like 10-11:00.

I like to run the 2:90 at the halfway mark (12:00) and adjust the preamp accordingly. It gives me a good point of reference.

I always run the 2:90 at noon and the preamps to taste. Typically my Triaxis is at 6 and the 2:90 is at Noon.
