Here is a little tone test I put together. I wasnt really trying to model KSE's tone but I think it came out pretty nice. I just wanted to get a second opinion on the tone because after listening to the track a while you start to lose perception on what the track really sounds like. Let me know what you think of the tone. Thanks.

Here is a link to the track: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6424303

Nice tone.
Hehe, when I just got my SM57, I tested it out by putting it in front of my Dual Recto (3 channel) and Bogner 2x12 and playing the same Killswitch Engage's version of Holy Diver intro riff.

This is what came out of my very first recording:

Sounds a bit too bassy on my computer speakers, but pretty ok with my headphones.

I used channel 3 in Vintage mode and was playing a Les Paul Standard. No pedals. I did double track it to get the nice harmonised thing going (both tracks panned 75 %).

PS: I know I failed with regard to the double tracking tightness. It was my first attempt, while both testing the SM57, a Line6 Toneport (just used as mic preamp), and Apple Garageband :)

Thanks. Your tone isn't bad at all for your first recording. I don't even want to listen to my first recording again because it sounded terrible. But yeah you may want to back off the bass a bit or adjust your mic position around some. BTW I'm also using a single SM57. Its a great mic.

Anyone else who has any thoughts please let me know. They are all appreciated.

Sounded really good to me, very close to their tone. One question though....where was the pinch squeal?!?!?! hahah just kidding bro. The tone was rockin'
