Killswitch Engage setting

hey does anybody know what settings Killswitch engage used on there self debut album i think they used mesa triple rectos on it not sure though :lol:

Yea If you search i think their is a thread where someone might have posted settings. But they are using Splawns now i think the Nitro model

I guess they use roadster. They sound too tight for a triple rec to my ears. Also i think i saw roadster in holy diver's video.

Yea they were pushing the Roadster a lot, but i've heard that they are using Splawn Nitros now, but they have to hide them behind their Mesa 4x12 cabs live because of their endorsement with Mesa they aren't allowed to show the Splawns.

Try a Dual Rec(red ch) with an OD boost. Diode/spongy. Gets you in da ball park.

This, only I'd do Diode/Bold. Run a Maxon OD808, Tube Screamer or similar boost in front with the Gain "off" and Output maxed.

They've used some Nitros on the US tour, but not overseas. Never been on an album.

Well....it's strange that we have so different opinions about which amps they use now or used in the past...I'm sure they used Framus Cobra Heads in the last album "As Daylight Dies" but, in this link, you can find a discussion about it...someone says Mesa Recto, someone says Diezel, someother says Peavey 5150...mmmmm...I don't know.... :?: :?: :?:

I remember them saying the "Alive or Just Breathing" album was a Recto boosted with the OD808. "The End of Heartache" was a 5150 and Framus mixed. "As Daylight Days" was primarily a Mesa Roadster. They mentioned that in a previous interview, and I think it may mention it on the Mesa artist site too.

It really doesn't matter what amps they used...they are VERY well produced, and all that studio magic makes a AWESOME guitar sound.

A well dialed in recto with a Maxon OD808 up front will get you that sound.

Yes, I totally agree...their sound is amazing and, to my mind, is the best metal tone of these last years...I love it! :mrgreen:
