Thanks! Yeah, keeping this simple is important to me. In total, I've probably got 35 - 40 hours in actual build time, troubleshooting, and revisions. That doesn't count research or modding experience with a Peavey VTM120, though, and I doubt I would have gotten through it were it not for all that time.lailer75 said:what kind of $/time do you have invested. i really like your design. a single channel recto w/ no BS
Without tubes or a headshell, about $650. However, it's worth noting that the transformers and chassis are the big things; past that, signal caps and resistors are very cheap. Think I spent $20 on all the resistors and about $30 on all caps except the big filtering electrolytic caps. Thing is, something with these kinds of parts would sell for about $2k.YellowJacket said:How much did the parts cost to build this? Are you going to build more amps now!?
More amps? Oh yes! I've talked to some local guys who are interested in having me build them something (custom 5150 and possibly a Trainwreck, although there's no official Trainwreck schematics). Dunno if that will happen or not, but I plan on building myself something with EL34s.
