I've been using shred mode with drop b tuning as well. It's just easier to use the shed mode to dial in a good tight tone with such a low tuning. But lately I've started to flip the shed switch for standard tuning and wow.... It really adds some teeth to the tone. Like rip your head off tones. Also, I found myself wanting a little more compression in standard tuning before I started using a lot of the shred mode feature. For metal, shred just pushes this amp over the edge. I was getting some great AJFA tones with the shred mode. This amp does Metallica without even trying. I'm in love :mrgreen:
