I play all kinds of Rock, running through an electra dyne. I have 2,000-2,500 to blow on a new guitar. Looking at Gibsons, PRS, or Fender but open to any other brand. Let me know what your favorite guitars are in this price range!thanks

I would seriously consider a Tom Anderson, esp. a Cobra-fellow bb member Joey B. has about 10 by now  ..they are a sweet, versatile axe..sort of a tele on steroids, acc. to which pups it has-has some Lp qualities (mahogany body, various tops, scale length)I love them, and watch out if i find a LEFTY-lots of tonal variations thanks to pickup configuration

Wow, I am very interested in the carvin cs6 custom, the ability to build my own guitar that's made in the usa is very appealing. how is the tuning stability on these? anyone have one? I had a gibson les paul traditional pro and that crap guitar wouldnt stay in tune at all, even with grover locking tuners. i cant believe i paid over 2G's for that piece of crap. gibson are hit or miss i understand that. but geez. anyway, these carvins look pretty sweet. would love feedback from anyone who has one.

So many questions to ask, like your preference in scale length, woods, bridge, pickups, etc.

However, for your price range, I'd be hunting around for a Grosh. No offense to PRS, Gibson or Fender, but the fretwork on the Grosh will outshine those three and I say that as someone who owns some Fenders and a PRS, as well as some Groshes.

Good luck on your guitar hunt. It's cool to have some money to find an upper-shelf instrument. Take your time and enjoy the journey.

John Suhr Pro Series. End of story. I own or have owned a lot of guitars and these are the best bang for the buck.

Check out Ron kirns site and see what all he has to offer. I love small builders and he is one builder that has been on my radar for some time. Many folks out there are big time fans of Kirn guitars. See what you think.

Hamers are tight, my dad owns one. tried out a gibson les paul traditional. man what a great guitar. i got lucky and found one that sounds great, plays great, and stays in tune! seems like nowadays that is too much to ask for from gibson.

I vote to get something custom done, something that is one of a kind.

There's nothing cooler than watching a concept....

Give it a thought, you can take the same money and have something custom.

NICE AX cabba. Did you do that all yourself?

I wish!
If I had those skills I'd be hobbited away in my workshop building custom guitars all day and night! :D

That is Christian George and he built that for me in 2008. It's a prototype called "The Sorcerer". He has his own shop up in Highland Springs, VA.
He has mad skills!
He did some work at Neal Moser's custom shop before he moved to VA.

I met him when I purchased one of his first guitars, an Exodus model:

I bet it sounds killer too :D

Thanks, yeah it sounds and plays awesome. That guitar was the first time I ever played a LACE "Drop & Gain" pickup.
I was using active EMG's in everything and was skeptical at first but that pickup was just as tight but had even more clarity, after practice
the first time I played it everyone was commenting on how much better I was cutting through.
I went with the LACE on the prototype as well, great pickup if you use heavy gauge strings and tune low.
