is this normal?

Every time i do a palm mute on my mark 4 lead channel, i get like a ding or a ring sound, like hitting glass, any help, thanks.

sorry guys found the problem, its the guitar, i have ibanez sz, put my ear to it with the amp on standby and palm and the ringing is from the guitar, any ideas how you fix this, will tap do aroundthe strings on the bridge.

foam..... place it under the string's after the nut...put in under the springs of your trem as well..this should stop it..basicly eveeything that can harmonically ring when you strum a chord..
