Jdurso,

Im seeking some effects pedal advice.

Ive always heard of adding a graphic eq pedal for leads and after 35 yrs have never used one. Im back running a big pedal board again and kind of want to add soemthing to kick up the mids and highs for lead. I know most people put them in the loop, but I want something to line into my board. Id rather not add more lines going to the amp. SOme places I play its 20 ft to my amp and I just dont want to add that much more wire.

Do you have any suggestions for a graphic eq pedal to put in front of the amp?

Thanks for any info, I didnt mean to highjack the thread. Oh yeah I'll be using it infront of either my Triple or my Roadster.

The GEQ is going to work best in the loop of the amp but it'll work infront as well. just remember in front of the amp your eqing just your guitar or any other peal before the eq. in the loop you eqing everything including your amp, which is why most of us have used them in the loop.

For what your looking for why not get an OD or Treble Booster instead? If its getting more mids to make a solo pop then I think an OD or Treble Booster will do the trick much better than an GEQ. one your getting a hotter signal and two most ODs have a mid hump in their eq thus adds some more mids and more complex harmonics. In all honesty though Chris McKinley on this board is the guy to ask... IMO he's a pedal guru.
