Is it the preamp tubes that needs replacment in my IIc+ ?

Hi there

Amp sounds AWESOME and nothing wrong with the sound at all, but i have noticed that there is a fair amounth of cracking going on this last days, much like when you have have a guitar cable that is not working proberly , but not as loud.

the sound is not affect buy the cracking sounds , its in the background

Eny ideas ?

It could be a preamp tube. If you have a tube that you know to be good, install it in V1. If the noise remains, try it in V2, etc.

Eny recormendations for a V1 pre tube that gives good dynamics and good bass ?,

I have no idea have old the pre tubes arein my amp or when the where replaced so i think il grab a new one.

Could just be a dirty or loose tube socket,try "rocking" the tubes one by one while the amp is on and see if the crackling gets worse or better when you do.If there is a change in the noise,that is the tube in question.Best to clean and retension all the sockets in that case.
