Hey guys, I put together a weird little track tonight using my RKII, I thought I'd share it with you.

If you have any questions about anything in it, whether it's my playing, tones, gear used, whatever... feel free to ask me.

I was using ch.3 vintage for all the tracks in this 8)

ps - the tone wasn't quite what it should have been, as one of my mic-stands was loose, and the mic's weight pulled the boom down by over a foot throughout the recording process... of course I didn't notice until after I had done everything and by that point I didn't feel like re-doing it all, so I just left it. It still sounds fine, I think.

Anyway, here's a link:

Lemme know what you think!

very kickass lead tone you're getting. just curious what cab you're using, orange or mesa?

I mic'd up my 4x12 for this track. SM57 directly into the cone (this is the one that slowly fell toward the floor through the session lol), Sennheiser e609 off to the side a little bit.

I have a TS-8 boost and Boss compression in front in that order, and an MXR 10-band in the loop with the first thee sliders (32 - 125hz) all the way down at -12dB. Using my KH-602 for this track, BTW.

Hope it helps.

Love the lead tone! :D The rhythm seem lacking some depth. A very good job none the less. Few questions... Did you add a little delay or reverb to the lead track? or is that the room? What were your settings on Vintage(Ch3), and were the setting different for the rhythm and lead?

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks mang. I'll agree the rhythm is lacking, I realized that afterward.

Yeah the delay/reverb I added after hehe.. I wish my room was that big

I just realized I actually did this on Ch.3 modern, for some reason I thought it was vintage.. oops. Anyway, the settings were the same for lead and rhythm, here they are. All settings are in "clock" mode.

Loop on, bold power, 2 cabs connected

Output: 12:00
Master: 9:00
Presence: 1:00
Bass: 11:30
Mid: 8:30
Treble: 12:00
Gain: 12:30

Don't forget I also ran that MXR 10-band EQ in the loop to kill 32-125hz by -12dB. I find that if you just drop the bass knob, the tone is altered too much, using the EQ is more precise in nailing just the bass without changing the rest too much if at all.

Cheers.
