I would do a full scheduled maintenance on the amp before I started even playing it.
In the IIC's, the V3 and V4 share the lead and reverb in each of these triodes. In essence, 1/2 lead and 1/2 Reverb for each.
The preamp tube could be freaking out with the higher gain.
Swap the V3 and V4 and see if it helps.
