........do you think he'd have started playing Boogies in the studio as well as in his backline?
 
No, I think he would have stayed true to Marshall. It is fun to speculate though. He may have opted for a DR/TR though over a JCM2000. Who knows though because Joe Satriani and Steve Vai had signature models made for them by their respective companies. But then again, Yngwie still uses Marshalls. I seriously doubt though that all the pedal hype would have been the same. Most of them are trying to model a sound after what he was using without using what he was using. He would be using whatever he wanted to now and that would be it. He may have even gotten smart enough to design his own amplifier and have it produced for him and bought the company doing it. Many other guitarists from his day are still using what they had been then. Others have moved on. So who knows.
 
Stilettos maybe.

I can imagine him saying (Like Carlos Santana has): "...there's something different about the new amps, made after the late '60's..."

Then he'd find it in the Stiletto.
