So I stopped by a friends house tonight and he knew that I had a few Mesa's. He said, "oh, you might appreciate this. I just found this in my closet." Here are the pics. Is it a Mark IIC or IIC+?

Working on embedding them.

Not a bad closet find.

Definitely a great closet find! Looks like a DR (Simul, Reverb) IIC+. It even has the front plate accurately labeled (many have "Gain Boost" rather than "Pull Deep" above the Master).

Agree, except it's not simulclass to me.
It has a switch on the front " class a / simulclass ". What about the amp leads you to believe it's not a DR ? I'm not saying that you're wrong, sometimes things aren't as they appear and I'm always open to learning.

My bad.
I just verified the back of the chassis and couldn't see the simulclass switch, hence my mistake.

Sorry for my disgression, I feel the idea of putting this switch in front of the chassis is not so good because of the tubes' layout. That's why I hadn't looked at it there at first...

It is a bit odd for people like us who are used to short heads which have the Graphic EQ, but the wattage selection switch is factory placed at the front on the long heads and on the short heads that don't have the GEQ.

Thanks for the input guys.

Out of curiosity, why do you say it's in a MKIII shell? I have no idea, so I'm curious how to tell the difference so I can properly explain it to my friend.
Thanks
