Ok guys i'm new to rack mount equipment and im really confused, I was wondering if someone can help, i'll first explain what i wish to do with the equipment that i have, and hopefully someone can help!

Ok equipment list first, Triaxis, 2:90, G major, Boss GT PRO,

Basically i have just bought this set up and i wish to do the following, dont know whether its even possible but here goes....

i would like to be able to wire my triaxis and 2:90 to work with the g major and gt pro seperately, so that the effects units and run either independalty or together ie triaxis 2:90 gmajor, or triaxis 2:90 boss, or triaxis 2:90 gmajor and boss together,

Know i dont know if this is possible but i'd really like to be able to sort of switch between the units when i change the channels on the triaxis, this is because i like to use alot of different sounds and ive found a really nice distortion sound i like using the gmajor, but dont want the gt pro there to colour the tone, i just want to use the gtpro as an effects unit for my weird sounds, and so would like to use it seperatlely ie clean on the tri with the gt pros effects on top ,

IF someone please could help me sorry for the length i just wish i had more knowledge myself if anyone could give me some insight it would be much appreciated, ive posted a pic of the back of all the units below,

Many thanks guys for your time, hope to hear from someone soon!! :)

I don't really understand your doubt but ...
Simply split your guitar in 2 signals with an A/B box and 1 signal goes to gt and the other one goes to triaxis.
With the A/B box you can choose with signal will be active,if boss or triaxis .
Than you send triaxis and boss outs to a mixer with 2 channels.Put g-major in the mixer fx/return and the stereo outs of the mixer to 2.90.

Thanks for your reply, i'm not sure i understand though, so i need to split the triaxis input??? if i do this how will i control the channels on the boss and gmajor so that wen i switch the triaxis, either the gmajor or boss change and kick in?

Is there no other way to do it with wiring or fx loops on the effects units themselves?

Like i said sorry if this seems obvious i just have no idea!

Thanks

Wrong

Boss is a pre.
Triaxis is a pre so you have 2 differents pres (guitarsounds).
If you split your guitar signal in 2 ,one cable goes to triaxis and the other goes to boss.
With an A/B switch you will choose wich pre you will use.
Until now ok.
Now you have to mix these 2 pres with a mixer because you have only 1 poweramp, with a mixer you will send the audio from these 2 pres to your poweramp.
OK
Now you link your 2 pres and g-major with midi cables.Example =triaxis midi out -boss midi in -boss midi out -g-major midi in .
Now these 3 units will receive midi changes from your midi floor board.
That's it you got 2 preamps connected to 1 poweramp .
Now you have to map the g-major presets.Example =
You stomp down in number 1 in your floor board.
Both triaxis and boss will chande to preset one.
Ok
In the A/B box you will choose wich preamp your poweramp wil receive.
Now you map the g-major ,as an example , to when boss or triaxis are at preset 1 ,g-major you 'll be at preset number 50.
That's it.
In the A/B switcher you choose wich pre will go to your poweramp.
:D

i think mercurialuk doesn't want to use the gt as a pre, but only for effects

So let's kill him !!!
Triaxis +g-major+2.90 = Why the hell he's wanting to use that boss !!!!!!!

Dude sell your boss and g-major and buy an eventide :D :D :D

One other method would be to use the Triaxis switchable effects loop.

Run the Boss unit in the Triaxis effects loop and run the G-major from the Triaxis outputs. Then take the G-major outputs into the 2:90.

The G-major is on all of the time because it's between the Triaxis and the 2:90 (which alot of people prefer anyway), but the Boss unit is now switchable per Triaxis preset.

Yup, chedgeco has it right on the money. Put one of them in the loop of the Triaxis and one between the Triaxis and 2:90. I had my g-major between the Triaxis and 2:90, since I used it on all my presets. That way I didn't have to worry about setting the loop on or off for each preset. Mostly laziness, I guess. I never noticed any difference in sound quality when I did try it in the loop.

Ok guys cheers for the replies, i'm getting the idea a bit more now, chedgeco or mr_fender.....

could you give me some more details ie what needs to go where for your method,???

i think that sounds gud, because at the mo i really like using the gmajors compressor and noisegate for my distortion, and just those alone, one of the reasons why i wanted to ask this question inthe first place, is because i mainly just wanted to use triaxis distortion with gmajor, then all my other effects ie phasers etc from boss,

Cheers for all the responces guys keep them comming!!!!

:)

Take a look a page 31 of the manual, Suggested wiring #4, this may help you with two effects units.
