I’ve finally found a really sweet lead tone!! After weeks of trying out all kinds of settings and spending some serious quality time with my amp I found it. It was there all along, channel 2, vintage mode. I love the tone that I’m getting out of the amp. I took the advice given to me by some of the members here and rolled back the gain and that just made a huge difference. I’m pushing it a bit with my OD pedal and man it's awesome!
Even at low levels it sounds great, at higher levels it sounds better. It’s smooth, cuts through and has lots of sustain. I easily get harmonics, squeals and it just sings!! The notes just sound so pure and full bodied. Very buttery!!
For the first time I’m content with my tone. Is it perfect? Of course not! Can it be improved? Sure! But gone is the frustration and I don’t feel intimidated anymore and most importantly, I don’t regret having bought this amp!!
Thanks to everyone for their advice!!!
