Ok, I am leaning towards 3 different 2x12 cabs for my Mark V combo.
2x12 Rectifier Cab
2x12 Orange
2x12 Avatar Contemporary

If aesthetics mean anything to you, keep it in the family. Otherwise, the Avatar is a great sounding cab for the price (as is the Orange for more money)

Yeah i am so anal about everything matching.

What would be your main sound? All of those cabs have very different characteristics.

Value for money winner is the avatar. Not great for aggressive sounds though, very vintage and mellow sounding. Great dimensions

Orange is a solid build and probably the most expensive. Can cover a lot of musical ground though. Aesthetic fail.

Mesa gets points for matching, very powerful, great for heavier music. Probably the heaviest weight wise of all of them (the vertical that is). By replacing one of the V30's it could compete with the a lot of cabs out there.

I made my choice.

Well it won't be "chugging" metal. My band Kingdom Heights is more or less a
Stryper/ Alterbridge/ The Darkness sounding band. I have owned the Mesa 2x12 before, but i used it as a floor monitor from one side of my 2:90 while the other side went to my Road king cab.
I need good lows so no bottoming out happens, but i need it to cut (i don't scoop mids much)

Well there is no substitute for a 4x12. Obviously it's pusing more, will have more bass etc. But the 2x12 sounds sweet, it can hold it's own, your back wont be broken.

Good choice. I just got my vert recto 2X12 last weekend. I got it used from a guy with the coolest home studio I have ever seen. (Gave me too many ideas. ) The speakers are the made in england V30's and are extremely midrange heavy. Almost too much so for me. The cab itself is built like a baby rhino but I think I might try experimenting with switching out the bottom speaker with a g12k100 or something else with a similar voice. The V30s are great, just too spikey and middy for me.

I am pumped, cause I am going to use that and the little peavey vert 2x12 i aquired and take the back off the peavey for good clean tones.

+1

I've got a 2x12 recto cab that I run a MarkIV through and it's very sweet. I also run a satellite out to my Mark IIB. They sound very very nice together.

I don't have the experience with the others, but I love my recto cab.
