Anyone here know what is a good product to use? I tried mothers polish and it did not help any. I was just wondering if anyone here has had any luck shining there's up.

I'm going to try Welman Cooktop polish (available at drug stores, I think) . I use it on my car's chrome tailpipes, and it works great for that. Then, I'm going to finish it up with some lemon Pledge. Let you know how it turns out.

EDIT: DO NOT use that cooktop polish! It scratches it all up! (I was planning to replace the chrome deckplate with a black deckplate anyway).

Any good metal/chrome polish will have it gleaming like a mirror. You'll be amazed by the black on the cloth afterwards. It's actually made of polished stainless steel, but a bit of extra polishing will make it shine even more and help prevent it from going dull over time. 8)

The aluminum polish I tried scratched mine up so I do not try that either. I guess I will just try some different products till something works. If something works good I will let you guys know.

Yes, it definitely seems like a polished metal since it scratches so easily with any type of "polishing" compound (polishes technically contain mechanical abrasives). Not sure if it's aluminum or steel. I scratched the piss out of mine last night. I'm going to try and pull it off with a heat gun (it's attached with adhesive), and paint it with a textured-finish can of black spray paint. If all else fails, I'll order the black diamond plate from Mesa.

Try "Brasso". It's a liquid metal cleaner that won't scratch. Good for any type metal, especially brass.

you can try BLUE MAGIC ,i used it on the aluminum frame on my dirt bike in really shined it up like chrome.you should always try a test on something of the same material first!

That's what I used for mine, it definately works. Takes aaaaaages to do the whole plate though. And like someone previously said, it's amazing the amount of black that's on the cloth afterwards.
