Hi everyone,
I have put a noise gate and a parametric eq in the fx loop of my mark V, I dont want this to affect my channel 1 soud. My question is: How to assign fx loop on channels 2&3, not to the channel 1?
Thank u if you have a trick or the answer

Assuming V90, I don't think this is possible. You can either hard assign it to one channel (back panel) or set to FT SW, in which case you'll have to switch it on/off with the footswitch

Possible only with external switching system.. I bought EM custom switching dongle for my Mark V and it has been pretty easy to use - no external power needed and programmable via phone app.

No idea about the french part 🤭

I have found a em custom midi switcher but I have no idea how it works. I mean, I'd like to assign eq and reverb to all channels and fx loop just to channel 2&3. If I program this process on the mark 5 with the em custom midi switcher, unplug it in order to plug the Mark footswitch (I need it to change channels) and using the footswitch, does it work ? (maybe I can plug the footswitch in the em custom midi switcher, in this case I don't need to unplug the midi switcher ?) After I have turned off the Mark 5, will it keep the settings? Sorry for my English, I just hope you understand what I'm saying.

The EM custom can control the amp channels also. So you would need some midi controller for the em custom to work properly.

With that you could program:
Program1: eq+rev enabled and ch1
Program2: eq+rev+fx and ch2
Program3: eq+rev+fx and ch3

as an example.

so, if I understand what you mean:
1/ First I plug "em custom switcher" in my computer and define the options for each channel of my amp(or with my phone) that is to say: CH1: 5 / CH2: 45 / CH3: 77 ( i have seen this in the AMI file in EM Custom website)
2/then I plug em custom midi interface in the footswitch port of the amp
3/ Finally, I plug a midi controller to switch from a channel to another.
Do you think a "TECH 21 NYC - Midi Mouse" or "FCB 1010 midi foot controller"can fit for it?
4/ I leave MARK V's footswitch in a closet because it will be useless ?

What about the functions like solo and mute? Can I call them anyway with the midi controller if I need to?

Sorry for my questions but I've never used midi in my whole life.
In any case, thank you for your precedent replies

1. The Em custom can be programmed with smartphone. Connected vie bluetooth and theres an app for it (ios/android) in the stores.

3. If you need only to change programs and no need to immerse yourself with Control Change also the Tech 21 stuff seems solid (midi moose/mongoose) would give more programs per “page” eg. not so many presses if one wants to go from #1 to #10. But that’s just my preference - I don’t know what’s your way of working.

2. You can program the switcher via app and keep the midi controller plugged in all the time

4. Pretty much this

FWIW I use an FCB1010 and control 3 midi devices. Also have looked at the EM and it was pretty straightforward midi wise and felt pretty confident the FCB1010 would work fine with it.

Thank you for the explanation!

In a way yes as the fcb1010 has the relay switches but you’d still need the iriginal footswitch. (Only two functions)

Mark V in itself does not support MIDI commands and the EM Custom is just a tool to control the amp functions with MIDI

So, with em custom device and a midi controler, I could do without the foot switch ?

Going back to your original question. Of course.. if you had the original footswitch you can control the loop on/off as @philosopher posted. Now if you just want to address your original question there are simple bypass switchers they make for pedal boards (no midi) something like this

Pedal Bypass Switcher

Reverb and EQ can be assigned to each Chan just by amp control switches. What's nice about the EM @Eevil suggested is you get all of the functions of the original footswitch :)

The FCB1010 is a cost effective midi controller but it's an older product and not very user friendly to program. I am sure there are never midi controller products with more user friendly programming methods. :)

Indeed, I think em custom switcher and tech 21 midi controller will be the best for my personal use. Thank you all for your advices.
