I was playing for a 1.5 hours, when I was done and unplugged the guitar cable it was fairly warm (the cable jack was). The whole mark V chassis was pretty warm to hot. Is this normal? I never had the main output above 11. I don't recall my Roadster doing this. I had the fan running and was in a fairly cool environment.

Your Roadster didn't have an upside-down chassis.

The roadster does have the upside down chassis, it is in the combo format. The roadster may have the same behavior, I just don't recall it. Does your V chassis get fairly warm?

Make sure you have the speakers plugged in correctly. I plugged mine in the wrong jacks and my amp got hotter that usual.( I had the amps speaker and the extention cab in the 8 ohm plugs when they should have been in th 4 ohm jacks.) My V runs pretty cool.

My mark V (combo) chassis does get warmer than my road king ii (combo) does, but i think size has something to do with it (1x12 vs 2x12). as long as you don't smell any burnt plastic, you're good to go:)

My Mark II amps have a much bigger fan, and will get hot enough that you can smell the Sylvanias cooking up some good tone. My old 60/100 Mark I did not have a fan, and would get very hot. The hotter it got, the better it sounded. I could burn people with the speaker cable after a 2 hour band practice. The guy that bought the amp from me actually called me about the heat issue. I told him that it had been that way for 15+ years that I knew of, and had not caused any breakdown thus far. You could use it as a space heater, in a pinch.

Mine does get hot but not smoking hot!
I run my 212 rec cab on 8 ohm both on The amp and speaker.
My cab was modded to have 8 and 16 ohm instead of 8 or paralel
