how do you remove the front face plate off of mesa dual rec?

I have a 3channel mesa dual rec, and I want to remove the front plate,
how do you do it?
just hit it from behind it?

or what?

I heard you heat it up... like with a blowdryer around the edges and gently push it from behind as the glue warms up and gets soft.

thank you for your response....
I used the blowdryer as hot as it would go, then started prying and wiggling the face plate with a small flat head screwdriver,

slowly but surely it came off.....it was some sort thick 2 sided tape/glue

so what are you going to do with it? I was going to have mine powdercoated by a friend, but i ended up painting it on the chassis.
