Hello all,

When I bought my Mark IV Hardwood a few weeks ago the shop had lost all the tags for it - typical - so I have no idea when it was built. Is there a pattern to the serial numbers?

My serial number is IV - 011843 - anyone any ideas - I have emailed Boogie so I will wait and see if they can tell me.

Brian :)

Just call Mesa tech support. The people there are REALLY helpful. They go the extra mile(or inch) or whatever you need. Top notch support.

I would, but I'd be calling from Scotland in the U.K. - quite pricey!!

I'll wait to see if they email first.

I have heard they are very good though.

Brian.

Pull the chassis out, or look at the bottom of the amp chassis and you should see a silver marker that tells you the build date and who teched it out. My IV has 12/93 and GM for George Mueller. Mine is in the high 6,000's so I can only imagine they were making 2300 a year from 1990 up. Just based on that I would say late 1995 or early 1996. Let me know if my ESP is tuned in.

There were no tags with it. I have no idea why the serial number is so low, but tht is assuming they are serial and not just random. Maybe custom order cabs have lower serial number?

Hope it is not anywhere near as old as it seems.

Brian :O

scotland - uk. me too! i rang them the other week about a mk2 c+. they were very helpful. whereabouts are you?

bearsden. i just got a lonestar which i pretty much like. got a 63 strat, a 335 and a 333 to put through it. do you play in a band?

Finally got a reply from Mesa :( Just as well the distrbutor here could source the details of when they ordered it, as it was a custom order.

"Unfortunately, there is no info available without the tag. Basically, that tag has the initials of everyone it passed through. I do not have info on that serial #...sorry.
But, rest assure that your amp has passed through the hands of MESA/ Boogies finest!"

Brian ;)
