I am gonna vent for a moment. I love my roadking, however I would love if they would make a footswitch that was shorter and was wider. 2ft long footswitch on a pedal board makes things very difficult when stepping on OD or Wah or Volume. I would love one that was 5 buttons on the bottom and 4 on top, kind of like one of the GCX floor boards. stacked instead of long.

If any one knows of someone making something like this or a better solution let me know. This is ridiculous. Obviously this is a venting from a show where I hit the wrong button in the middle of the song because my footswitch is the size of a mid sized SUV.

This is the terror I live with on stage! It's like fuckin' river dance.

Why not go for a cleaner route with a looper and midi board? That would clean up the tap dance and keep your pedals in a rack if you want. Shorter leads would probably help your tone a bit too.

Or you can just go for a midi switcher like axxess and get a simple footswitch like the Roland GFC50.

Yo...

Find an electronic guy or do this your self if you are able:

Take the king kontroller, open it up and copy/build the design into a new
box, configured exactly how you want. will cost not much at all, mostly just the box and switches that are pricey for components... Led's, chips, pcb and other components will be well cheap to get.

If you dont fancy it and can't find anyone to do it... perhapse someone here will ... I would be happy to do it for cost price, but Im in UK... the finished article would have to be shipped to ya...also I have RKII.2 , so its the tune mute instead of ex trig... which is yours? if its different I would need to find out if the switching for that function of the controller was different or just the same circuit but re-labeled

what dyou reckon?

The channel names are super dumb but.

1- Clean (dry)

2- Klean (Wet, delay Chorus)

3- Supa' (when your from Boston is pronounced "SoupahhR"

4- Death.

-------------------------------------

I am considering the GCX solution. Only because it cleans up your signal. However the GCX has 8 inputs and I need to have all the funtions of the Road King, 4 channels and 2 effect loops, reverb. AND all the pedals. I like the idea of doing a custom footswitch.

Does anyone know someone in the US that builds them?

look at a bradshaw custom switching unit. im pretty sure it routes all your pedals independently with no signal suckage and gives u buttons like the king kontroller just right in a line to choose your effects. they're prety pricey though i think...

I will preach to the high heavens about xotic pedals in general. The BB is smooth and has a compressed sound, it is amazing, and has a bite to it. It sounds Awesome. However the AC is a completely different animal, it is full and has a lot of mids, it cuts through, especially with a bit of delay, very creamy.
