Hey im a new poster to this site.........(which is FANTASTIC BTW)

Anyways, i had my recto for a little over a year (dual recto 3 channel). and my problem is im going to be buying a g major or g major 2 soon havent decided but i will be buying a FCB1010 Foot switcher with it... my problem is i only us channel 1 and 2 on the amp and i was wondering if anyone could give me an insite to how i would get this to work i need to be able to turn the solo button on and also the FX loop.

I heard that there is 2 relays on both the G major and the Dual recto and was just wondering would my easy solution just to be plug a jack to jack (not sure which cables i will need to use for this) from channel 1 and 2 in the g major and then plug a jack form the loop and solo boost in a snake with the midi cable to the fcb1010 floor board..

At the moe im use all pedals and im getting sick of pedal dancein (as evenone is or was im sure) and i also want to minimise the amount off leads going to and from the amp a one lead snake would be perfect i for me with a lead just straight into the amp

any help would be much apprectiated (cant spell lol) but yea thanx guys

Welcome to The Board.

You can use the G-Major's relays to swith Ch 1 & 2 on your Recto (but Mesa Boogie will say no), and the relays in the FCB1010 to switch FX Loop & Solo.

You'll need an insert type cable for the G-Major, it has a 1/4" TRS (or stero) plug on one end, and two TS (mono) 1/4" plugs on the other. You set the relays (Tip or Ring) to OPEN (off) or CLOSED (on) within each patch of the G-Major.

From the FCB1010 you can use two standard 1/4" cables from each switching jack to the FX Loop & Solo triggers.

If you call Mesa about switching channels with your G-Major they will advise against it. Mesa recommends using only isolated relays for channel switching, and the G-Major uses a common ground, but many Recto players here use the G-Major for channel switching. I use an Axess CFX4 for channel switching on my Roadster (and the Triple Recto I owned before the Roadster), and the G-Major for FX Loop & Solo, so I cannot comment if long term use of the G-Major's relays for channel switching will cause any harm to your amp.

BTW, even though there are two switching jacks on the FCB1010 they are not isolated. They share a common ground same as the G-Major.

Search the forum on channel switching with a G-Major for more info, or maybe others will comment in this post.

What kind of pedals are you using now? Are they in front of the amp, in the Loop, or both? Certian pedals sound best in front of the amp, and the G-Major belongs in the FX Loop.

Also, The FCB1010 is a great unit, but it will benefit greatly with a Uno Firmware upgrade (non-Behringer), and the RipWerx PC editor. Even if you do not upgrade your firmware, I highly recommend a PC editor, for which you will need a MIDI interface for your PC. It really makes programming the FCB1010 a breeze.

I also highly recommend that you download the manuals for the G-Major, G-Major 2, and FCB1010 so you can educate yourself on what these units can and cannot do BEFORE you buy them.

Hey man thanxs very much at the minute my setup is realy quite simple its just

guitar- TU2 - Ts9 - Amp input

Fx loop - DD-7 then Rv-5 and back again sounds good this way but im starting a new band soon and i'll be the only guitar player.... (band im in now lol other guys dont like effects like flange and chorus and just simple things for makin riffs pop ya know) so i decided i needed a new setup...

Just a question see i only need to swap 2 channels on my dual recto not all three can i not just use a quarter inch jack from channel 1 - relay 1 on tc and channel 2 - relay 2 ??????????????????? as i know to sitch all three you need the y cable........... if im wrong tell me lol as i would like to have it in my head wat i needa buy then have a price save and buy ll in one go lol

Thanx joe

I pretty sure the amp will default to channel 2 so sure, you can just use a standard 1/4 cable from the G-Maj to the Ch-1 switching jack on the amp. In the G-Maj just leave relay #2 off (open) and relay #1 will control Ch-1.
