Hello
I recently bought an amp gizmo + custom mesa cable and a ground control pro for my Roadking 2 head.
I want to be able to use the first 2 rows of buttons of the ground control(eight in total) as if they were the buttons of the original Roadking 2 pedalboard. That would be to select channels (1 to 4), reverb, loops 1 &2 and solo boost ( minus tuner mute) and have the third row of 4 buttons to build presets of channels, fx (g-force) and boost on/off. If someone can give me info about how to plug all these items together it can be very helpful. Thanks a lot 8)

Well after some hassle i figured out the whole thing so i don't need help anymore with midi 8) ....all i can say is that the amp gizmo and ground control are really good devices!... they totally fixed the mess i had for presets and foot switching .... now playing my amp is more fun than ever! if any fellow guitarists read this i encourage them to try these nice pieces of gear
bye

if you want one with that man buttons (which maybe overkill unless you have a midi controlled fx unit) you can look at the rocktron midimate. you can find them for around $100. If you can deal with a simpler one look at the tech 21 midi mouse or the rocktron midi xpress. i use the rocktron xpress and it works like a charm. i will however go to the new rjm controller for more control over my rig but for now the rocktron does the job very well.

Hi there !

I'm about 1 week before receiving my RKII head !
I can't wait !

In the mean time I'm thinking about midi-controling the beast.
I own a Ground control pro and I'm considering buying an amp gizmo.
I noticed Voodoo labs is about to sell something close to the amp gizmo called "Control switcher" (there's a preliminary info on their site that shows the specs).

http://www.voodoolab.com/controlswitcher.htm

I can't decide if I wait for this product to arrive or if I go with the amp gizmo everybody seems to be very happy with...

Any advice ?

now i have a different setup...instead of using only 4 buttons of presets x bank and the rest 8 switches as if they were my old road king footswtich on the gcp ... wich didn't make much sense i have changed to 10 presets x bank so i save the relays configuration on the gizmo + specific fx setting on the g-force. All this is done on each gcp switch and they share the same number with the g-force . For example...

gcp buttons.............roadking II channel number.....g-force user preset
1............................3 raw mode............................01 - some delay
2............................1 fat mode..............................02 - some chorus
etc etc etc....

this way i can go from Petrucci like riffing to U2 like delay cleans or Lifeson distortions with chorus with the push of 1 switch. The best thing i that one is able to customize wich presets have solo boost or fx loops on or off or whatever.... this stuff is the end of tap dancing :D

get the amp gizmo, it can control 8 channels/functions while the control switcher only does 4 hence you'll need two. plus you just need the one cable from the gizmo to your amp and your set.
