Looking for some creative opinions. Maybe some longtime Mesa users have seen some of these grills "live" and can offer their input. If I add a 1x12 thiele I may end up going black as it would be costly to upgrade the grill on that cab as well.

CHOICES ARE:
Tan
Black & Cream
Standard Black

I vote Tan....

WOW! Black & Cream is taking it by a long shot! Guess I could live without the 1x12 to go with an alt grill.

That is SUPER COOL amrose57!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! Waited about 2 months for it. I love orange so figured I'd give it a try. Ended up better than I had hoped. It sounds so sweet as well. That little head rips, and so far I'm just scratching the surface.

I like the one in the first pic you posted.

That said, after owning a good number of Mesa's I can tell you that it's far easier to match blacks than it is to match custom colours.

Yea, my only concern is customizing the grill and adding a 1x12 later. If everything is left black there's no concern of "matching"

It can be problematic, but as long as you choose a common color you should be alright, assuming you're willing to do a bit of work. I have a roll of the Mesa grill cloth (notice my grills don't quite match) and I'll be changing the grill on my cabinet so I get that exact match. (Actually will be making another grill so I can change them whenever I feel the need) Companies like Lopo Line have tons of grill choices. I bought the Lopo Line cabinet that has the removable grill just for that reason, knowing an orange Boogie was in my future. I'm also getting ready to re-tolex my Egnater with the same orange so it matches as well, although black and orange does go well together. :D

I agree, particularly if an item is going to be your signature piece for a worthwhile period of time.

Having gone down that road before and realizing that I'm pretty fickle and likely to change tastes I generally try to stick with plain black.

That said, if I ever do settle on a single amp long enough to desire a custom colour it's likely to be trimmed like this;

And I'd get the cab trimmed like this;

Oh that looks NICE!!!!!!! The Tan is so CLASSIC! The Black & Cream is cool, but could look busy after awhile is what I'm thinking. Have to consider the long term! The tan would match my custom pedalboard better as well. Tough choice but a good problem to have! :)

It sure would be helpful to do a mock up in photoshop before I order - but that aint happenin! LOL

Go to the Mesa Boogie Site. They have pictures of all of their custom options for your amp. The colors are pretty close.

I improvised - thinking it might help the indecisiveness - but it only made it worse. LOL!!!!
